Jing Li Assistant Research
2009
I am a solar astrophysicist. I am interested in dynamic processes on the Sun. These include the mechanism of solar flares and magnetic fields and electric current fields in active regions. I am also interested in the physical properties of the large scale, long-lived coronal streamers which are evident on the so-called Coronal Limb Synoptic Maps. In the summer of 2009, I moved from Hawaii to Los Angeles working at UCLA. This opens a new chapter of life, and new research opportunities. I look forward to collaborating with colleagues at the Institute of Geophysics and Planetary Physics to understand how coronal streamers interact in interplanetary space, and their relations with the solar wind.
