Characteristic Vibrations of NH3 (C3v symmetry)

The normal modes for NH3 were generated by calculations at the MP2 level with the 6-311++G** basis set.  The listed frequencies were calculated by Benedict & Plyler (1957, Can. J. Phys. 15:1235-1241), based on spectroscopic measurements. The ammonia molecule has been rotated slightly for n3, because the vibration looks better from that point of view.
